Verse of the Day
1 John 4:18
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayer is a vital part of who we are as members of the body of Christ.  The way we are at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall; carry out what 1 Thessalonians 5:17 encourages us to do, "keep on praying".

Shawls are made to comfort someone who is about to have surgery or who may be dealing with illness or simply to keep someone warm. Prayer shawls and lap robes are tangible evidence that prayers were said for the person receiving it.

In addition to our prayer shawls for ladies and our lap robes for gentlemen, our Prayer Shawl Ministry recently started knitting and crocheting for newborns.  Our ministry offers sweaters, hats and blankets to all new born babies, regardless of their size.  Our needle work is completed in all sizes to fit all size infants.  We at Bald Eagle United Presbyterian want to celebrate new birth, and this is one way to do so.
Before any of these hand made items are sent out from this ministry, they are prayed upon by the Prayer Shawl ladies and most items are placed on our altar for congregational prayers during our Sunday worship service, which starts at 10:30.
To date many of our Prayer Shawl items have been sent to many lo cations throughout the United States.

If you know of an expecting mother or a newborn baby, you may contact us.  We will be more than happy to accommodate your requests.

Currently our Prayer Shawl ministry has 29 registered knitters and crocheters, from all denominations.
If you are interested in joining this active ministry here at Bald Eagle United Presbyterian, please, just come.  There is no registration required.  If you currently don’t know how to knit or crochet but would love to learn, again, come and we will teach you.

We try our best to provide you with yarn, and needles.  We always have a wonderful complimentary lunch.  We ask only, if you are able, to place a small donation in our basket and this helps buy more yarn.

We meet once a month, it’s always the first Wednesday of each month and we meet at noon.  Consider joining us for food, fun, fellowship and being part of this wonderful outreaching ministry.

Anyone interested in joining the Prayer Shawl Ministry or if you are in need of a Prayer Shawl or know someone who is please contact us at our email address on the home page.
